Des Heffernan started playing golf at the age of 30 after a
successful amateur sporting career playing and coaching
Australian Rules Football. Since his early youth he has
always had an interest in any sporting endeavour, with a
particularly keen eye for technique.
Heffernan has worked in the finance
industry since the 1970’s, involved in sales, servicing,
training, and senior management. When he wanted to start
coaching golf, he found the traditional club professional
route didn’t make sense for someone of his age. He qualified
through USGTF-Singapore, and since that time he has taught
at various driving ranges, courses, and also at the Sea
Temple five-star resort in Queensland.
“It was a fantastic experience, one I’ll
never forget,” says Heffernan. “I am very privileged to
teach golf, and really get a buzz when my students get it.”
